Amy Carter in Hospital for Ruptured Disc Pain

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Amy Carter was hospitalized with back pains caused by a ruptured disc today and a spokesman said she would not be able to help her father, former President Jimmy Carter, build houses for the homeless.
Amy, 19, who was dismissed by Brown University for “academic reasons” after her trial on charges stemming from a protest against the CIA, arrived from Atlanta on Wednesday to help her father and mother in the Habitat for Humanity project.
