A Dangerous Corner
I have lived with my family for 30 years on the corner of Beverly Glen and Valley Vista boulevards. In that time there have been so many accidents on that corner that it’s a wonder we keep our sanity. Frankly, I’m tired of pulling people out of wrecked cars, calling the paramedics and all the damage that is done to property, public and private.
As a retired L.A. police officer I have been battling to have the city cut the speed limit down to 20 m.p.h. during the peak rush hours. I have been to our councilman’s office on numerous occasions, and, although the whole office staff agrees with me, nothing is being done.
There is also the matter of the street signs, which create confusion. Many deliverymen and servicemen heading for our house wind up going to Roblar Street, for that is the way the signs are posted. It would be very easy for a pedestrian to be killed or injured walking across Beverly Glen because of this confusion. What must we do to get action--picket?
