Pasadena : Grant to Aid Preschools

Pacific Oaks College and children’s program has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Ford Foundation to launch an adopt-a-school program in conjunction with the Pasadena Unified School District.
Pacific Oaks, a private school for early-childhood education, plans to train teachers and aides from the district’s 15 state-subsidized preschool child-care sites, where 400 children are enrolled. The grant will enable Pacific Oaks to provide a program coordinator, workshops for in-service training, substitute teachers and transportation.
