University of Texas officials have decided to declare defensive back and world class high jumper James Lott ineligible for his senior season for accepting money from New York sports agents Lloyd Bloom and Norby Walters, the Atlanta Journal reported.
Bloom, who had said last week that all underclassmen who accepted money from the agents had been exposed, confirmed that Lott also accepted money. “I guess I forgot one,” he was quoted as saying. “But that’s it.”
The university issued a statement that, essentially, said the Lott case was being investigated, but the player had not yet been declared ineligible.
