SDG&E; Reports 3% Drop in Quarterly Net Income
San Diego Gas & Electric’s net income dipped 3% to $43 million and revenue rose 14.1% to $455 million for the second quarter ended June 30. The company said a 17% increase in operating expenses, to $391 million, caused the slight drop in net income. SDG&E; linked those increased expenses with its ongoing diversification efforts.
For the first half of 1987, SDG&E;’s net income fell 13.4% to $97 million, while revenue rose 7.9% to $898 million.
