Four Swimmers Injured by Chlorine Gas at Pool

BECKLEY, W. Va. — A filter problem at a municipal swimming pool Monday caused the release of toxic chlorine gas, and four swimmers were taken to hospitals, officials said.
The New River Park pool and vicinity were evacuated, said Marty Agee, a Beckley police dispatcher. The extent of the swimmers’ injuries was not immediately known.
