Anaheim : El Centro Man Killed in Freeway Accident

A 58-year-old El Centro man was killed Sunday on the Riverside Freeway after being thrown from a truck in a collision involving four vehicles, the California Highway Patrol said.
A CHP spokeswoman said Rafael Quintana, who was riding in a tractor cab driven by his son, Antonio Quintana, 26, was run over after being thrown from the truck. The accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m.
She said that the right front tire of the truck blew, causing the vehicle to slam into a Placentia Avenue overpass support. The truck then bounced back onto the freeway. Quintana was killed when he was struck by a 1987 Chevrolet Beretta, the spokeswoman said.
