Sid Caesar, who has been in everything from slapstick comedy to drama, will make his debut with the Metropolitan Opera in New York as the jailer Frosch in Johann Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus.” He will appear in eight performances of the opera, beginning Dec. 4.
