LONDON — A Delta Air Lines L-1011 with 267 people aboard made an emergency landing at Gatwick Airport when it experienced technical problems shortly after takeoff, airport officials said Friday. No injuries were reported.
The L-1011 was examined after the landing and then left Gatwick again later Thursday night for Cincinnati, the airport said in a statement. It did not specify the nature of the technical problem.
Atlanta-based Delta, the United States’ fourth largest air carrier, has come under scrutiny by the Federal Aviation Administration because of a series of incidents involving pilot error or mechanical failure in the last two months.
