Robert H. Reid, director of the California Arts Council, has been appointed to the board of the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies, a service organization that aids communication between state arts agencies and the National Endowment for the Arts. The council has recently applied with seven other states for an NEA grant to fund individual artists, plans to host the 1988 National Assembly’s conference in San Francisco, and is underwriting a study of the state’s ailing mid-size orchestras.
