Hamburger Hamlet Nearly Doubles 1st-Quarter Profit
Hamburger Hamlets said its fiscal first-quarter profit more than doubled from a year earlier, to $190,554, or 6 cents a share, from $82,264, or 3 cents a share.
The Sherman Oaks-based restaurant operator said sales rose 12.4% to $12 million in the quarter ended June 28, from $10.7 million a year earlier.
Hamburger Hamlets attributed the increases largely to the opening of three outlets in the past year, giving the company 24 restaurants. Most are in Southern California.
