Against Changes in the Basin
Have you seen the ads for the San Fernando Valley Fair?
Nightly rock ‘n’ roll shows (The Jets, Billy Vera and the Beaters, Asleep at the Wheel, Blood, Sweat & Tears, etc.), paper airplane contests, various exhibits and the always socially relevant razorback pig races. What a great use of our Agricultural District tax dollars!
These are the same people who want to move the fair into the one remaining agricultural greenbelt we have left: the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area.
What were the words to that song? Something like, “They took paradise and made it a parking lot. . . .”
Beware. By hook or by crook, Sen. Alan Robbins is going to slip that little old $1-million budget appropriation past us and move the rock ‘n’ fair into the basin so fast we won’t know what hit us.
