Miami Beach, Fla., Wednesday renamed its Theater of Performing Arts in memory of entertainer Jackie Gleason, who put the resort town on the map in the 1960s as “the sun and fun capital of the world.” The theater now will be known as Jackie Gleason Theater. Gleason brought his weekly television show from New York City to the theater in 1964.
