Cablevision of New York Buys Valley Cable for $103.5 Million

Cablevision Industries Corp. reported that it has completed a $103.5-million acquisition of Valley Cable TV from Hollinger Inc. of Toronto.
Valley Cable has about 65,000 subscribers and is available to about 175,000 homes in the San Fernando Valley.
Cablevision Industries, based in Liberty, N.Y., reported that the City of Los Angeles recently granted it a 15-year renewable franchise to provide cable-TV service in the area.
The addition of Valley Cable raised Cablevision’s total subscriber base to about 500,000 households, the company reported.
