In Praise of Budget Article

If there were such a thing as a South Bay Pulitzer Prize in journalism, then L. A. Times Staff Writer George Stein would certainly deserve the honor. His article titled “Cities Juggle Facts, Figures, Best Guesses to Plan Spending” (Times, June 25), was outstanding. It contained tons of data on the South Bay communities yet was presented in an easily understood manner; a trait not often found.
The article was in the best interest of the citizens in allowing us to see and compare the performance of our city leaders. Congratulations on a fine job.

The article was written by Stein with contributions from Times staff writers Gerald Faris, Julio Moran, Dean Murphy, Karen Roebuck, Sebastian Rotella and Tim Waters.
