Man Critically Injured After Walking in Traffic
A Stanton man was in critical condition Monday after he stepped out of a car and inexplicably walked into oncoming traffic in Anaheim, police said.
Efren Joseph Sanchez, 33, got out of a car stopped in a westbound lane of Broadway near Nutwood Street at 12:45 a.m. Monday and walked into the eastbound lanes, where he was struck by a 1985 Plymouth, Sgt. Chet Barry said.
Sanchez received major head and internal injuries and was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was listed in critical condition. The driver of the Plymouth was uninjured, police said, and was not cited.
Police had no explanation of why Sanchez left the stopped car and walked into traffic.
