SECOND S.D. GALLERY TO CLOSE

SAN DIEGO — Mark Quint’s announcement Friday that his gallery will close in September came within a day of the news that the Patty Aande Gallery will shut down on Aug. 31.
Quint, who will continue to represent artists privately from his home, cited difficulty meeting overhead expenses and “a little bit of burnout.”
Both galleries are in the 9-G Building at 9th Avenue and G Street downtown. Quint, who represented local and regional artists along with several from New York and Europe, opened his first gallery in La Jolla in 1981. He and his wife moved the operation to its present location in 1983.
