The body of an elderly man was found Friday night in a dry creek bed, almost two weeks after the victim of Alzheimer’s disease had disappeared from his home.
Tommy Dawsey Jr., 62, of San Diego was found dead about 10:45 p.m. Friday by children who were playing near the dry Chollas Creek in the 3400 block of Martin Luther King Way, San Diego Police Sgt. Tony Smith said.
The preliminary cause of death was listed as natural causes, according to the coroner’s office.
Dawsey left his home in the 3000 block of L Street on June 15 and never returned, Smith said. His wife, Eldora, launched a search effort that included flyers and T-shirts that carried a picture of her husband with the question, “Have you seen this man?” according to authorities.
