Justice in Istanbul
I was very interested in Charles Wallace’s article June 14 about the Pera Palace in Istanbul, but felt that he hardly did justice to the hotel. My husband and I spent almost a month at the Pera Palace in October, 1966, and found it to be the epitome of Turkish luxury. The somewhat faded elegance enhanced our enjoyment of Istanbul’s wonders. Our bathroom and WC were down a white-marbled hall with a floor of thick red carpet. Our bedroom had a separate large washroom, which held two marble washbasins and a bidet. The sheets were linen and the towels wonderful. And this was the most inexpensive room.
