An East German official derided President Ronald Reagan’s hope that the Olympic Games could someday be staged in both parts of Berlin as “a political fantasy.”

Reagan, in a speech before the Berlin Wall two weeks ago, said staging the Olympics in both the Communist and Western sectors the city could help bridge the differences dividing the city.

Reagan’s idea “is politically impossible, a political fantasy” Guenther Heinze, vice president of the East German Sport Assn., was quoted as saying by the country’s Communist Party daily newspaper, Neues Deutschland.

Reagan’s proposal “is unsuitable to the political status of Berlin and to the sovereignty of the German Democratic Republic,” the newspaper quoted Heinze as saying.
