A jury Monday convicted 30-year-old Carlos Antonie Hinojosa of El Cajon of all 20 counts stemming from a series of rapes in East County.
Hinojosa was convicted of six counts of rape, two counts of forcible oral copulation, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, nine burglary charges, and one count of assault with intent to commit rape.
During the three-week trial, nine victims identified Hinojosa as their assailant. The rapes occurred in El Cajon, Santee and Lakeside in 1985 and 1986.
Hinojosa was arrested Sept. 5 after his fingerprints from a 1978 arrest in Orange County were matched by computer to prints obtained from a glass in one victim’s home and a palm print left on another victim’s car.
Superior Court Judge Elizabeth Zumwalt set sentencing for July 7.
