Kent Nilsson has turned down a three-year contract offer from the Stanley Cup champion Edmonton Oilers, ending a 10-year professional hockey career in North America.
He said he intends to play either in Stockholm or in Bolzano, Italy.
In eight NHL seasons, the 30-year-old Swedish center scored 263 goals and 422 assists for 685 points.
