Heavy rain fell over areas already drenched by storms from Texas and Oklahoma to North Carolina, pushing rivers above flood stage and forcing new evacuations. A flash flood and flood watch continued for the Texas hill country and much of South Texas. Indiana’s White River flooded parts of Anderson, northeast of Indianapolis, and other rivers above flood stage included the Nishnabotna River near Hamburg, Iowa, and the Roanoke River near Williamstown, N.C.
