Lee Plemel pitched a 12-hit complete game, and second-ranked Stanford scored two runs on wild pitches and another on a balk Tuesday night for a 6-1 victory over No. 1-ranked Texas in the College World Series.

Plemel (9-5) struck out 8 and walked 1.

Texas’ Curt Krippner (13-1) allowed only 5 hits, but the Cardinal stole 5 bases, 3 by Toi Cook. Krippner walked 4, each leading to a run.

Stanford (50-16) will play Oklahoma State (58-11) Thursday in a game between the only undefeated teams in the tournament.

Jimmy Barragan’s homer leading off the seventh inning proved to be the winning run as Oklahoma State scored an 8-7 win over Louisiana State (48-18) earlier Tuesday.

Texas (59-10) will play Florida State, and LSU will play Arkansas in losers’ bracket games today.

Stanford, which has won 10 straight games, scored the only runs it needed in the second inning. Two walks and a single by Ron Witmeyer loaded the bases. David Esquer drove in one run with a sacrifice fly, and another scored on a wild pitch.

The Cardinal added two runs in the third. After a single by Ruben Amaro, Cook grounded into a force-out, then stole second and third before scoring on a wild pitch with two out. Paul Carey walked, stole second and scored on Witmeyer’s single.

Stanford scored again in the seventh when Krippner balked as Amaro tried to steal home.

In the afternoon game, Oklahoma State’s Robin Ventura extended his NCAA-record consecutive game hitting streak to 58 with a double in the sixth inning.
