William Alexander of Cal State Dominguez Hills and Annie Kniss of UC Riverside were named male and female athletes of the year in the California Collegiate Athletic Assn.
Alexander, a 6-foot 4-inch senior forward, scored 618 points in 31 games this season to become the leading scorer in CCAA basketball history with 1,766 points. Kniss, a senior, was named to the first team of the all-conference women’s volleyball squad.
