Israelis Bomb 2 Refugee Camps
SIDON, Lebanon — Four F-16 Israeli bombers today raided the Palestinian refugee camps of Miyeh Miyeh and Ain El Helweh, wounding at least two infants, police and Palestinian sources said.
Mahmoud Al Hassan, a spokesman for the Palestine Liberation Organization’s mainstream Al Fatah guerrilla movement in Sidon, said the Israeli jets fired rockets shortly after 6 p.m. on the refugee camps and concentrated on residential targets. He said the raid lasted seven minutes, destroyed four empty houses and wounded two infants. Police sources in Sidon said the houses were Fatah guerrilla bases. The refugee camps are east of Sidon, 24 miles south of Beirut.
