A 61-year-old man was stabbed and seriously injured at his Lynwood home after fighting a suspected burglar who later died of a gunshot wound inflicted by the stabbing victim’s son-in-law. Sheriff’s deputies said Richard Villasenor and his son-in-law, Arthur Pimentel, 40, were awakened by a noise in their carport and found a man getting out of their car with a radio in one hand and a knife in the other. Deputies said Pimentel shot the intruder when he began moving toward them, and Villasenor was wounded when he tackled the man as he tried to flee. The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene and Villasenor was later reported in stable condition at St. Francis Hospital after undergoing surgery for an abdominal wound.
