C. James Dorrenbacher has been named executive vice president of McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Co.
Dorrenbacher, who had been vice president and general manager at the McDonnell Douglas subsidiary’s Huntington Beach headquarters facility, was replaced in that post by Gerald A. Johnston, 55, who had earlier been his deputy general manager.
In his new capacity, Dorrenbacher, 59, will oversee all major functions of the company, with special attention to the newly created Space Station division, as well as the divisions in Huntington Beach and Houston, Texas. Dorrenbacher, who has been with the company since joining Douglas Aircraft Co. in 1950, will remain in Huntington Beach.
