Mexico’s Carlos Mercenario and the Soviet Union’s Ogla Krishtop set world records at the IAAF Race Walking World Cup in New York. Mercenario won the men’s 20-kilometer event in 1 hour 19 minutes and 24 seconds and Krishtop won the women’s 10-kilometer event in 43:22.
