Oak Brook, Ill.-based McDonald’s Corp. reported a 13% rise in profit to a record high for the first quarter of 1987. Revenue also increased, a spokesman said. Systemwide sales jumped to $3.12 billion from $2.74 billion a year earlier. The company said the rise is due to higher sales from existing restaurants, new restaurant expansion, new products and the effect of stronger foreign currencies.
