The Barbara Sinatra Center/Variety Club Telethon raised $340,000 in pledges to go for the care of abused children. Organizers said Frank Sinatra made five appearances on the annual five-hour program and made a personal donation of $25,000. Also appearing were Gregory Peck, Bob Hope, Sammy Davis Jr., who sang a duet with Frank Sinatra, Roger Moore, Rich Little, Telly Savalas and Wayne Newton.
