The Federal Communications Commission Tuesday granted Capital Cities-ABC Inc. permission to delay selling seven radio stations, including Los Angeles stations KABC-AM and KLOS-FM, until July 3, while the agency decides whether to alter its rules governing ownership of broadcast properties. Several months ago the FCC proposed altering its “one-to-a-market” rule, which forbids any one entity from owning a TV station and a radio station in the same market. Among other things, the agency has proposed eliminating the restrictions on cross-ownership of AM radio stations and TV stations. A decision isn’t expected until fall.
