Mormons Convert 216,210

SALT LAKE CITY — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints reports that baptisms of converts last year totaled 216,210, a 9% increase over the year before.
The Mormons, with 4 million U.S. members and 6.2 million worldwide, held their annual general conference last weekend, with addresses by President Ezra Taft Benson and other members of the Council of Twelve.
