A cab driver who is a member of the Sikh religious sect was found not guilty on charges he conspired to assassinate an Indian leader. Jatinder Singh Ahluwalia dropped to his knees outside the federal courthouse in New Orleans and prayed moments after he was released from custody. Ahluwalia had been held on charges he conspired with four other Sikhs to kill Bhajan Lal, chief minister of the Indian state of Haryana, when he visited New Orleans in 1985.
