Improved operating performance and lower taxes contributed to Lexington, Mass.-based Raytheon Co.’s 10.3% increase in profit and revenue rise of 1.4% in the first quarter of 1987. During the quarter, the company had revenue increases in electronics, major appliances and other product lines. However, the gains were offset by decreased sales in energy services and aircraft products.
