Connecticut talk-show hosts praised a Waterbury judge’s acquittal Tuesday of Thomas Speers, a man accused of harassing Jay Clark, a Jewish talk-show host on WATR in Waterbury, with frequent anti-Zionist telephone calls and postcards. “The most surprising thing about the case was that there was a case at all,” said Mark Davis, host of a call-in program on WTIC in Hartford. Tiny Markle, of WICC in Bridgeport, said irritating callers come with the territory. “There have been times when I would have liked to have some of my callers arrested--or committed,” Markle said. “I am sure there are times they’d like to have me arrested or committed.”
