At issue in the federal grand jury and Securities and Exchange Commission probe are alleged insider loans to former Interfirst Bank director Edwin L. Cox Jr. Losses on the loans to Cox and loans to other former directors accounted for $56 million of Interfirst’s total 1986 loss of $326.5 million.
