El Cajon Driver Killed in Freeway Crash

A 45-year-old El Cajon man was killed Tuesday afternoon when his pick-up truck crossed into oncoming traffic on California 125 and was struck in the side by another vehicle.
Leon Duane Icardi, 45, an inspector at Solar Turbines Inc., was pronounced dead during surgery at Sharp Cabrillo Hospital at 5:27 p.m., said a spokesman for the San Diego County coroner’s office.
The accident occurred at 2:15 p.m. on southbound California 125 near Lemon Avenue in La Mesa.
