Rock ‘n’ roll must be here to stay--now that Bruce Springsteen is an entry in the World Book Encyclopedia. The Philippines’ president, Corazon Aquino, and the Grand Unified Theories (physicists’ attempts to explain the forces of the universe) also made the 1987 edition, executive editor Dick Harmet said. “If you had to melt the criteria (for inclusion) down to one thing, it would be permanence,” Harmet told the Associated Press. Some of the other rock acts passing World Book’s permanence test include Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and the Who.
