Fallbrook High School hit eight home runs, including five consecutively to open the third inning, en route to a 22-5 victory over Carlsbad in a nonleague game Wednesday.

Jason Rusk had three homers, two in the third inning, when Ty Barksdale, T.J. Flynn, Bill Dunckel and Mark Ringkamp followed Rusk’s first one with homers of their own. Ringkamp also homered in the fourth.

The wind was blowing out at Fallbrook’s field, which is 300 feet down the lines and 330 feet to center field.

The eight home runs in the game and three by one player are not San Diego Section records.

Santana hit 10 home runs against El Cajon Valley in 1985, and Jimmy Tatum had four home runs for the Sultans in that game.
