Lakers Try to Extend 10-Game Streak
PHOENIX — The Lakers, who haven’t been out of town since March 3, will take their 10-game winning streak on the road, although just for a one-night stand against the Suns, who have lost all four previous meetings between the teams this season.
After their last two losses to the Lakers in home-and-home games, the Suns changed coaches, firing John MacLeod and naming Dick Van Arsdale as interim replacement.
The hottest of the Lakers is Magic Johnson, who has accounted for an average of 60 points a game in the team’s last three wins. The Laker point guard averaged 26.7 points, 16.3 assists and 9.7 rebounds in wins against Utah, San Antonio and Sacramento.
