Two escaped prisoners from the Butte County Jail were captured as they stopped for gasoline at a market in the community of Magalia, the sheriff’s office reported. Deputies and police said they followed David Allen, 28, of Chico and Gerald Deerman, 18, of Feather Falls to the market on a tip, then overwhelmed them. A third fugitive, Gary Bowman, 22, of Paradise was arrested a few days after the three escaped a week ago.
