Devers Wins Four Events for UCLA Women

Gail Devers won four events Saturday to lead UCLA to victory in a women’s quadrangular track and field meet at Drake Stadium.

Devers won the 100 meters in 11.2 seconds, an NCAA qualifying mark; the 200 in 23.3; the long jump at 20-5, and the triple jump at 40-8. The Bruins scored 90 points to 38 1/2 for Cal State Northridge, 29 for Cal State Long Beach and 16 1/2 for Azusa Pacific.

In the men’s meet, Raymond Young of UCLA won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.35 and the 400-meter hurdles in 52.54 as the Bruins scored 110 points to win. CS Northridge had 39, Azusa Pacific 25 and CS Long Beach 19.
