NAACP Cites 6 for Support of Youth
Mayor Tom Bradley presented awards in behalf of the Los Angeles NAACP’s Youth and College Division to six people Saturday in recognition of their commitment to supporting youth activities in the city.
The awards ceremony at the Christ Baptist Church on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard honored County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn, television actress Marla Gibbs, Washington Preparatory High School principal George McKenna, KDAY radio public affairs director Rory Kaufmann, Weingart YMCA director Leroy Titus and Angela Gibbs, executive director of the Crossroads Arts Academy and Theater.
A deputy, James Cleveland, accepted the award for Hahn, who is ill.
