Whittingham Knows How to Lose With Style
I had to admire Charlie Whittingham’s resiliency after Ferdinand’s second consecutive loss by a fraction of a nose. Charlie came out to the Santa Anita paddock and waved to the crowd stating, “that’s life in the fast lane.”
I wouldn’t be able to take the loss of over $300,000 to horses with better endowed nostrils so lightly. Has Charlie considered devising some silicon nasal implants for this colt so long on heart and short on snout?
