Mother Can Keep Surrogate Twins
Associated Press
STAFFORD, England — A judge ruled that the natural mother of Britain’s first surrogate twins can keep the 5-month-old children, saying it was important to preserve the maternal bond she had provided.
Stafford High Court Judge John Arnold said Thursday that the twins had spent a lot of time with their natural mother since they were born and must have developed a bond with her.
The judge ruled that, despite a more stimulating intellectual environment in the home of the father and his wife, the link between mother and children must be preserved.
