Regulators closed four banks in the Southwest.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. said four troubled banks in Texas and Oklahoma were closed by state and federal bank supervisors, bringing to 42 the number of failures so far this year. Fifteen of the 42 have been in Texas, where the economy has been hard hit by plummeting oil prices. The banks were in Del Rio, Olney and El Paso, Tex., and in Oklahoma City.
