THRILLS ON THE TOWN
Channel 2’s “2 on the Town” and Channel 7’s “Eye on L.A.” have reached new lows in broadcasting with their nightly parade of nearly nude women during prime family-viewing hours (“The Bare Truths of TV Sex Wars,” by Howard Rosenberg, March 4). And the Television Times is just as bad by printing their cheap-thrills ads on almost every page of the magazine.
This is just great for young kids to glance at when checking out the TV listings. Has no one any class anymore? And then, the height of hypocrisy, the above stations’ news programs have been agonizing for weeks over whether to show ads for condoms!
Nude women? Of course! Simulated sex on the soaps? No problem! A survey of nude beaches during family time? Naturally! But information about sex that may save a life? Oh, God! Do we dare?
