416 Prep Wrestlers in Fresno Competition

A total of 416 high school wrestlers, including 78 from the Southern Section, 52 from the San Diego Section and 13 from the Los Angeles City Section, will begin competition today in the California Interscholastic Federation’s State tournament at Fresno’s Selland Arena.

First-round matches in 13 weight classes are scheduled for 11 a.m., with the second and third rounds to follow this afternoon. The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m., and the championship finals will begin Saturday night at 7:30.
