Mayor Washington Won Primary by 78,158 Votes

CHICAGO — Mayor Harold Washington won the Democratic primary last week by 7.1 percentage points, or 78,158 votes, according to newly released results from the Board of Election Commissioners’ final canvass. Washington drew 587,594 votes to former Mayor Jane M. Byrne’s 509,436 votes.
